What We Do

Eight years working sportfish cockpits: rigging baits, setting the spread, running teasers and handling fish at the boat. Bring us on for a tournament or a day offshore, or hand over the run itself — yard trips, tournament moves and seasonal repositioning, delivered on your schedule.
A standing appointment — weekly, every other week or monthly — that keeps salt off the finish and stains out of the gelcoat. Hull, house, deck and glass, hand dried, plus a walk-around so small problems get caught while they're still small.
Compound, polish and wax on gelcoat and paint, or a ceramic coating for multi-year protection. Non-skid, isinglass, teak, stainless and interiors brought back to show condition — inside and out, above and below the waterline.
Fluids, filters, belts, impellers, batteries, zincs, shaft seals and bilge systems. Service logged every visit, with photos and a plain summary of what we found.
We line up the mechanics, riggers, canvas shops and boat yards, meet them at the boat, and stay on top of the work until it's finished right. One call from you replaces a dozen.
Fueled, iced, rigged and provisioned before you arrive. Tackle sorted, baits ready, cockpit set — you step aboard and go, and the boat is cleaned down when you get back.
Taking a boat from capable to fishable — outriggers and rocket launchers, rod holders and tackle stations, teaser reels, leaders and rigged baits. Everything goes where a mate would want it, not where it happens to fit.
Every boat is different, so outfitting is quoted per project. We walk the boat, talk through how you fish and what you're chasing, and put one number on it.
How It Works

We meet you at the slip, look the vessel over end to end, and talk through how you actually use the boat.
You pick the services and the cadence — weekly wash, seasonal detail, engine service intervals, captain days as needed.
Work happens on schedule whether you're in town or not. You get the record and the photos; the chasing stays with us.

About Jack Bobbitt
Jack Bobbitt is the owner of Bobbitt Yacht Management — eight years working as a professional fishing mate, rigging, running and caring for sportfish boats offshore, not just washing them at the dock. More than eighty vessels have been in his care since. The business is based on the Outer Banks and works throughout eastern North Carolina.
He is also a commercial pilot and aircraft owner, with four years of flight experience. Flying runs on preflight checklists, maintenance logs and honest weather calls — the same habits a well-kept boat needs. It also means reaching a vessel outside eastern North Carolina is practical rather than theoretical.
Owners come to us because they want their time on the water, not on the phone chasing vendors, waiting on callbacks, or wondering whether anyone checked the bilge this month. We take that off your plate entirely: coordinating mechanics and boat yards, running the maintenance calendar, keeping the boat clean, and having it fueled and rigged so you're ready to fish the day you arrive.
